My archery journey began through my student exchange year in Japan. While there, I was introduced to the traditional Japanese art of archery, known as Kyudo. This experience opened my eyes to the deep spiritual and philosophical elements of archery, where the focus is as much about the mind and spirit as it is about hitting the target. It was love at first sight, and I found myself completely drawn to the discipline, precision, and peace that comes with each draw of the bow.
After returning home, I couldn’t resist exploring more of the world of archery. I expanded my practice to include a variety of bow styles, from the traditional longbow to the modern recurve and compound bows. Each type of bow offered a new challenge and a different perspective on the sport, and I found myself fascinated by the techniques, equipment, and history behind each style.
As an archer, I’ve learned that archery isn’t just about hitting a target; it’s a personal journey of self-discovery, focus, and growth. It teaches patience, resilience, and mindfulness—values that resonate deeply with me. Whether I’m practicing Kyudo or enjoying the thrill of competitive archery, I find something incredibly rewarding in each bow I pick up.
Through this blog, I want to share my passion for all things archery with you, from the spiritual aspects of traditional archery to the excitement of modern target shooting. Whether you're looking to get started or expand your knowledge, I’m here to offer tips, insights, and inspiration from my own experiences with various archery styles.
Thank you for joining me on this exciting adventure—let’s explore the world of archery together!
